How Do You Share Access to Your WP Engine Website?

WP Engine has been a long-time personal favorite of mine. It was one of the very first WordPress centric managed hosts and they continue to improve their hosting services.

One of my all-time favorite improvements was when they added the ability to spin-up development and staging versions of websites. This makes it possible for proper development.

Adding WP-CLI is a very close second. 😉

WP Engine’s attention to usability and developers certainly shows. Including when it comes to sharing access to a WP Engine installation of WordPress.

Here’s how to share access to your WP Engine website:

Once on WP Engine, click Users > Account Users and click the Add User button. That's where you will enter the email address for whom you would like to give access.

Once you’ve logged in, simply click Users > Account Users and click the Add User button. That’s where you will enter the email address for whom you would like to give access.

When it’s time to set permissions, you might want to check this handy user role capabilities chart provided by WP Engine. In most cases you’re going to want to go with Full (no billing).

Don’t forget to check this every once and a while. It’s easy to forget you’ve given access to someone after work on your site has been complete.
