The next WooCommerce major release will introduce some small breaking changes to websites running the tool. These websites need an extra step in testing prior to updating to Verison 4.0
This WooCommerce update will introduce a new admin dashboard that will bring a new experience to managing orders and viewing reports. This admin will be available as a separate plugin called WooCommerce Admin.
The new report features will allow you to dive into the data of revenues, orders, coupons, taxes, coupons, and customers.
You may already have seen a notice to install this plugin on your website when you log in. If you aren’t yet using it, we recommend giving it a try on a development or staging version of your website.
Things to know
WooCommerce Admin also allows store owners to customize a new dashboard screen with performance indicators that correspond in importance to their store’s operation.
You can read more about the new dashboard interface at this introductory blog post at https://woocommerce.com/posts/woocommerce-admin-a-new-central-dashboard-for-woocommerce/. They dive into many more details on the upcoming changes.
Based on the latest version of the plugin, the server recommendations will be:
- PHP version 7.2 or greater
- MySQL version 5.6 or greater OR MariaDB version 10.0 or greater
- WordPress memory limit of 128 MB or greater
- HTTPS support
This release is set to drop in early March. We will start testing for our clients just as soon as the latest release candidate is made available.
